a new perspective.
I came across this article called "How Can We Give Thanks in All Circumstances" by Jon Bloom (Desiring God). Read it. It's based on 1 Thessalonians 5:18, which is a verse I quote a lot (i.e. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). What stuck out to me are the following paragraphs:
"Jesus’s thanks was not based on his present circumstances. He was about to endure the worst possible horror. He felt thankful to the Father for the grace and glory that was coming because of the cross and this gave him joy. Eucharisteo."
"So how can you give thanks in all circumstances? There’s only one way:
Jesus’s way. Look to the joy set before you. Look to the joy! If the
future joy Jesus promises is real and you believe him, there is no
circumstance that can steal your thanksgiving."
In relation to my previous post about having zero motivation, I've taken on a new perspective. Yes, I will be flustered and unmotivated at times, where it be school or work. But in these kinds of circumstances (and well in any circumstances really), I am to remember the grace God has given to me through Jesus Christ and to know of the joy that is to come! So yeah! Read this article, cause this short blurb doesn't do a good job of it. So yes God! Please continue to be my motivator and allow me to continue to give thanks to you everyday in each circumstance!!!
