hope?
I've been talking to a friend who has been suffering a lot on the inside. This friend has been wanting to move on, stand up and regain hope "in this world". I can't help but scrutinize over that part...because you can't hope in this world. The world will fail you over and over and over again. Putting hope in this world is like putting hope in something that won't last; it cannot support you and it cannot love you unconditionally. But when we hope in Christ, that is a different story. We have hope in Jesus that peace, joy and love will restore in the world one day, with no more hurt or unhappiness (Revelation 21:3-4). And why Jesus? Well, God loved us so much that He sent His Son as a human who is perfect, blameness (sinless) and obedient, taking up God's wrath of all our sins, died and rose again three days later (defeated sin and death - like whaaattt!) so that we have forgiveness and a right relationship and eternal life with God (John 3:16). And so we have hope for Jesus' return to end the suffering and grief once and for all, and start our new lives with him forever. So what I'm trying to get at is, hope in Christ, not in this world.
