act of thoughtfulness...

day 163.

- no, it's ALL GOD. That's what I wanted to say to the lady sitting behind the counter. I felt compelled to say it, but I couldn't and I don't know why I didn't. And for that, I am sorry Lord. I went to the Carefirst office with my mom to know about the MediAlert service offered by Carefirst and Philips. Carefirst is a community based organization that offers care and services to seniors. So we asked about the MediAlert service for my grandparents to see what the rates were like. First of all, being a service organization and all, it bugged me how the workers weren't friendly. The lady that spoke to us about MediAlert kept cutting my mom off and she kept selling it to us instead of telling us the information we wanted to know. Secondly, the tone of the two workers were unbelievably unacceptable. It might as well be condescending. And it bugs me. And I was surprised how calm my mom was (I kept looking at her to see her reaction) and I realized that there are people like that in this world. And it means that I have to do THAT much more in telling them about God. but I didn't, and it was very sad. Back to the lady sitting behind the counter story...there was a little girl that came with her mommy and she was told to sit on the chair while her mom had her interview. The girl was there since I came into the office and she was just sitting there moping. As I was leaving, my mom needed to use the loo and so I was standing next to the girl. To be honest, I knew what she was going through, being bored and all. So I asked the lady behind the counter for paper and crayons. (funny part) this was how I asked: "mm goy, oi hoi mm hoi yee yui (excuse me, can i have..) paper and crayons" MAJOR FAIL. I didn't think I'd fail speaking canto. but it proves that I need to practice more (I couldn't even write my own name just now -.-) Anyways, the lady caught on to my idea of giving the girl some paper and a pencil or something, so she gave me a piece of paper and a pencil. I handed it over to the girl and I told her to draw a nice picture for her mommy, congratulating her on her interview and she just went "mmmm!". hahah so adorable :) In the end, the lady looked at me and said, "wow, you're so thoughtful" and at that moment, I wanted to say, "NO. It's all God. He wanted me to make her smile" but I didn't say that.
