:P
i have to admit, i was pretty scared to go outside. the windows are thumpling thump thumping, the branches on the pine trees kept swaying, so imagine the chances of me being blown away -.- . and when i was walking outside, i heard the wind and i felt the wind pushing me, like someone pushing me to move forwards :\ it reminded me of two things. The fear of the Lord and Acts 2.
This past sunday, Pastor Ken Taylor spoke about the Holy Spirit, or rather, the Holy Ghost. He helped me envision what was happening when the Holy Spirit came and filled the disciples. the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven. Ken Taylor played sounds of wind rustling during the sermon; imagine that in a room. Such a grand entrance. So powerful. To be honest, I was scared. Just like how I was scared today, feeling and hearing the wind. But then it reminded me of the fear of the Lord.
Proverbs 1:7, The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge..
we are told to fear God, but once we step into this place of fearing God, He tells us "Do not fear". like whaaaat. we should fear You, but you tell us that we shouldn't?! But this fear, is a fear of awe. It is the acknowledgment of God, this fear when we are in the presence of God. The amazingness (not a word) of God, the sovereignty of the Lord. You're in awe. It's the fear that comes from the love for God.
So as I was walking to my classes, I was reminded of how omnipotent God is. How fearful He is. i can't even describe the feeling.
