intervention.

day 328.
ruler for someone.
I have to say, my days of love aren't very loving...they are very itty bitty acts ><

today I learned about divine intervention. I learned and believe that God intervenes in my life when I am about to do something wrong. That He stops me before I sin against Him. "..and it was I [God] who kept you from sinning against me [God]" (verse 6). Though for Abimelech, he was innocent due to the fraudulent misrepresentations Abraham made about him and Sarah being brothers and sisters when first and foremost, they are husband and wife. A bit of background story, so in the old testament, when a foreigner joins a country or territory, the foreigner (sojourner) usually gives his daughter to the king as a alliance gift. Alliance is as in to make peace with each other. If the foreigner does not have a daughter but a sister, then the sister is given to the king. So one way to interpret this passage is that because Abraham has no daughter (since Sarah was barren) and Abraham say that Sarah was his sister and Sarah said Abraham is her brother, so Abimelech took her. It's funny, well not really, because PT said that that is the only explanation or that Sarah is still very very pretty. At that time, Sarah is 90 years old...but who knows! Perhaps God restored her beauty and she was still a beautiful woman ;) Back to the main point, so Abimelech did not do anything wrong, because he has not committed adultery with Sarah because he did not touch her. God says that it was because of Him that Abimelech did not touch Sarah. heheh, God owned Abimelech. Go God!! haha, on a side note, Abraham owed Abimelech a duty of care; the tort of negligence (I cannot really pronounce that -.-). Yaaay law.

Point is, God is ultimately in control of our lives. God intervenes when He wills. All glory, power and honour is His.
