strolling down fincham + main street markham

I really enjoyed my evening strolling down fincham and taking my usual routes to school (MD rep!). As I was driving on 16th and turning on fincham, a lot of memories popped up. The Garden Basket plaza looks so different now - they've renovated and new stores are there. The neighbourhood is still quiet, which was really nice. There weren't a lot of cars so driving at 20km/h was really nice. It's been such a long time since I passed by my old house - the beautiful vintage mailbox is still there, the handmade deck is still looking great, the family seems to garden, so it's nice to see that the backyard was well kept. The bush was taken away - the rabbit I used to see probably has a new home now. Haha, I must've been like a stalker/creeper to have driven so slowly around the house and looking through the fence -____- Then I continued to stroll down the streets and took what used to be my daily route to school. The house I used to like (and I still like it) is still there and it still looks so nice...hahhaa, I used to hope that the owners would sell it and I would buy it! There were so many developments - houses got a lot bigger and more modern, which didn't seem to match the neighbourhood... School was interesting, hahaa, considering they have such a big field now (which used to be where my old school was located) and the new school just looks like any other new and big high school. I passed by my friend's house - sigggh, all those good times hanging out at her house. I parked near main street markham and started to walk up the street. Main street markham is sooo different now!! The first half got a lot prettier hahaha, I think they are still working on the last half. They built new apartments that is close to the shops so when I walked around there, it felt like I was in HK. I would even say it looks nicer than main street unionville (just the first half of it anyways) and I would consider living at those apartments - it's just really nice to be there. I saw one of my friend's dad in the neighbourhood and it was so nice to talk to him - heeh I like talking to uncles :D :D

Anyways, the blurb above was just me being sentimental and remembering all the things I've done when I was living in that area. I realized that I grew up a lot - one being that I was able to drive myself now, and the environment also "grew up a lot" (lots of developments). Seeing my high school friends also made me realize that we grew up a lot. I guess, we've just become more mature (somewhat) and just hearing what people are up to, it's like wooow, we're adults hahaha. What I'm trying to get at is, I'm thankful that God has placed me in markham, this northeast area hahha to grow up in, and feeling a sense of community there.

:)
